A Roma, al Museo Storico della Fanteria, la mostra Gauguin. Il diario di Noa Noa e altre avventure, che prende spunto dal diario scritto dall’artista francese, dopo il suo primo viaggio a Tahiti, arricchito da splendide xilografie ad illustrarne i testi. Nel libro viene raccontata la vita nelle isole polinesiane, i miti e le credenze ancestrali.

Tra le varie opere esposte vi è un importante disegno a monotipo, Studio di braccia, mani e piedi, proveniente dalla storica cartella di disegni salvati dal rogo dei suoi averi, ordinato dalle autorità religiose dell’isola. Uno spazio è dedicato alla presentazione di sculture realizzate da Gauguin in quel periodo.

In Rome, at the Museo Storico della Fanteria, the exhibition Gauguin. The diary of Noa Noa and other adventures, which takes inspiration from the diary written by the French artist, after his first trip to Tahiti, enriched by splendid woodcuts to illustrate the texts. The book tells the story of life in the Polynesian islands, the myths and ancestral beliefs.

Among the various works on display there is an important monotype drawing, Study of arms, hands and feet, from the historic portfolio of drawings saved from the burning of his belongings, ordered by the religious authorities of the island. A space is dedicated to the presentation of sculptures made by Gauguin in that period.
